Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s world-famous fairy tale about The Little Mermaid, incorporated in her usual titillating and provocative ceramic art, artist Louise Hindsgavl once again in collaboration with Kähler has created a figurative kick-start for life’s often somewhat difficult conversations.
Her new figurines in glazed ceramics are called The Ambitious. Here, she tells the story of a mermaid who tries out new ways to make her dreams come true. Being an enterprising and inventive young woman, she has tried her hand at legs instead of tail. And she is ready to take it one step further. Maybe an extra breast is needed to charm the prince?
